We’re remodeling our entire house and now we’re trying to work on the kitchen. It’s tiny! It’s dark. It’s old. I think we should paint our cabinets.. my husband said new. Mine is cheaper 😂 but new would be ideal they are just old. I want to knock the wall down behind the stove and open up the kitchen. We are making the room (currently the living room ) into a dining room. Take the cabinets above the bar down too. What would you do to my kitchen?! Photo of before we moved in and currently. Yes my cabinets are two toned 🤦♀️🤦♀️ we have all new appliances stainless steel. New flooring purchased but not put down. Trying to lighten up my whole house! There is no light in the kitchen !
New cabinets and countertops. I would suggest taking the cabinets above the stove out and just have a nice drop down vent. It will look kind of wierd with it just hanging there by itself, but it’s all you can do without reventing under the stove.
Are the cabinets actual solid wood🤔🤔🤔. Then I would paint them. Using a good cabinet coating. Not paint. You can’t get that quality of wood in new cabinets. Even “solid wood”. Isn’t the same as years ago🤷🏼♀️. If sturdy I would redo them 🤷🏼♀️. (I own a painting company).
I’d take those uppers you plan to take down and repurpose them into bench seating.
