Soooo I have a 2 year old LG fridge (LG had to up warranty to 5 years parts and labor due to cooling issues) andddd it wasn’t getting cold, not making ice, and freezer not freezing. LG sent out a service tech, he changed the compressor, said to some larger compressor LG is asking them to change it to and now 8 hours later, nothing. Fridge still hasn’t changed a damn thing. The tech told me it was the compressor….so now what? Has anyone had this happen?

Not with this model but my fridge just did the same thing and my bf cleaned out under it and it seems to work fine now. Apparently something was clogged not allowing the fans to move. You’d be surprised how much gets clogged under there

Sounds like a defrost issue. Worked on a few fridges with issues generally its a board issue on new fridges

LG known for this issue. Customers have had several conpressors installed with no success. Go higher up to supervisors at LG and insist you want it fixed immediately or a new fridge. I know some people who have succeeded getting new one…..

My husband goes in every three weeks with heat gun to unfreeze the venting in back of ice maker . We have put all new parts even a new ice maker but still freezing. So it works every time & makes ice. But it seems like every 21 days or so it stops & joes just removes the baskets , ice machine & removes the cover than unfreeze the coils with heat gun. Dryer works to but takes a little longer

Yes, they changed my whole top of the fridge out that cools it. But it was maytag.

I had this same issue this summer, but another brand. They changed up every part and it’s been working perfect since. The first time they only replaced what you had done, fixed it for 5 days and then it didn’t work anymore.

Lg quality has taken a dive. The techs are definitely no help and charge u up the Ying yang for what? Just poor design overall. Although after a lot of research, there isn’t one manufacturer that all that! Wouldn’t buy another Lg tho.
