Kitchen remodel in process—a new pantry that was built that replaced the hole for my 35 year old fridge that died is now next to the stove. Like less than 1/2 inch away from stove. Didn’t think anything about it until I boiled noodles one night. Is there something like a stainless steel panel like in restaurants that I can put on the side of the pantry next to the stove? If so where do I get one? Don’t want tacky. Thanks.
Contact a local metal working place and see if they can sheer a sheet for you to size.
Is there any wiggle room for the stove? If you can move it over just a bit I’d tile it the same as the backsplash
yyou could do a backsplash wallpaper
A thought … Might be a fire hazard there?? And moisture from boiling water, etc might eventually destroy the cabinet. It definitely needs a good protection.
Yes there is. Just saw one at home depot in different sizes. Not that expensive either.
Pretty sure I have seen plain stainless steel panels at home depot for this purpose. Our house came with one I the cabinet next to the stove and one behind it.
If you want steel, don’t go to lowes or home depot. Contact a steel supplier and order stainless steel. It will 3-4x less than going to a home improvement store.
Tile it. Lol. It will look tacky no matter what you do…. I’d remove it and have a counter top off to the side. Put a cabinet up above the counter top. If you need pantry, look elsewhere to set that up.
That is a big fire hazard. Go to a sheet metal shop and have a peace of stainless cut to fit the side.
