How do i remove the cabinet face frame?

I am wanting to paint my medium oak cabinets and would be a lot less work to remove the face and doors rather than the whole cabinet.

I plan on using a air sprayer, i could just paint them in the kitchen but Idk how to handle the paint smell.

Voc’s are low to zero these days, very little off gassing, take off doors only to spray with a lazy susan in a closed space

Not a good idea to remove it. I would mask it like painting a car. Use masking film and tape.

I removed all doors and drawers and painted the face frames in place. It’s the same way pro painters do it. You’ll likely do more damage trying to remove the face frames, which is why I’ve never heard of anyone removing them in order to paint.

Most the time they are glued so you would probably damage them

any paint recommendations? I was looking at behr cabinet and trim paint

I would be using a paint sprayer instead of brush to get the smoothest possible finish.

It would be more difficult to remove the face of the cabinet. If you’re looking to spray it will leave a strong smell behind but it should be completely gone in less than 7 days. I recommend painting them in place and using SW Emerald.

That’s not a good idea removing the entire frame, you will be messing with the structural integrity. Just pull the door off the hinges and the drawer front And paint those outside, then paint the frame inside the house
